San Francisco (United States) - At the end of November, the Board of Trustees of California College of the Arts (CCA) approved Dream Big
(PDF - 240KB) as the college's strategic plan for 2010–15. The plan
outlines a distinctive vision for the college as a place of
extraordinary promise and transformation for those who believe creative
work can positively and powerfully affect our world.CCA
President Stephen Beal commented, "From beginning to end, this plan
reflects the values of the CCA community - artistic and academic
excellence, innovation, risk taking, diversity, collaboration,
community engagement, social justice, and sustainability. It clearly
defines our aspirations and challenges us to put them into operation."The
strategic planning process began in October 2008 and involved more than
650 members of the CCA community, including students, faculty, alumni,
trustees, parents, and staff. Noted design firm IDEO helped the college
craft a structure and process that would be as inclusive as possible,
which consisted of research projects, brainstorming sessions, and
visioning events......
